A MAN has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in Leeton earlier this year.

Following extensive inquiries by detectives, a 27-year-old Leeton man was arrested on Docker Street in Wagga Wagga, shortly after 11.30am on Wednesday April 21.
He was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station and charged with attempted murder as a result of the February 25 incident.
It was on that day that a 25-year-old man attended Leeton District Hospital with stab wounds, following what police said was an alleged altercation at a home in Gossamer Street in Leeton's Wattle Hill area.
Police allege two men, aged 25 and 27, were involved in a brief altercation, before the younger man was stabbed in the chest by the older man.
The 25-year-old was airlifted to Canberra Hospital for treatment to life-threatening injuries.
Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District attended and commenced inquiries.
The 27-year-old Leeton man was refused bail after his arrest and appeared in Griffith Local Court by audio-visual link on April 22.
He was charged with attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The man was refused bail and will face Griffith Local Court again in June.
Detectives from the Murrumbidgee Police District are also continuing to appeal for information into a ram raid in Leeton earlier this year.
Strike Force Irribin was established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident which occurred at the Leeton Soldiers Club on January 28 around 4.30am.
It was at this time that CCTV footage captured a white Toyota Hilux utility, painted in a camouflage design, gaining force entry to the club.

The vehicle drove through the club, causing extensive damage to the building and gaming machines.
Three men got out of the vehicle and attempted to steal an ATM machine, before fleeing in the ute empty-handed.
Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers. Various items were seized for further forensic analysis.
The ute, which had been reported stolen from a home in Yanco, was located on River Road, Yanco, about 6.30pm on January 29.
The vehicle had been destroyed by fire and was seized by police for forensic examination.
Investigations are continuing and police have called on anyone in the community to come forward with information that could assist in making an arrest.
