Coach Brian Bertolin is happy with how his side is shaping up, heading into the season opener.
"We have had a really good last few weeks at training," he said.
"I think we had every single person in the squad bar two at training last night for the three men's grades. Everyone is really chomping at the bit to play."
With a strong preseason under their belt, Bertolin feels the side is in the best condition they have been in for a number of seasons.
"It has probably been the hardest preseason we have had in the last four or five years in terms of a fitness perspective," he said.
"Andy Gamble has put a lot of work into that, and it has been really good.
"We would have liked a couple more games, but other than that, it has been good. We had a full-length intraclub game last week, so that was a good hit-out for the boys to get them a bit of match practice."
While the return of the likes of Joey Schirripa and Andrew Gamble will help bolster the side's chances this season, there are a couple of younger players who Bertolin is tipping to have strong seasons.

"There will probably be four new faces," he said.
"Joey and Andy are coming back, and then a couple of young boys pushing their way into the squad.
"Young Chaise Donetto has been super impressive at training, he is only 16, and young Christopher Zappala will be a part of the first-grade squad as well."
While the idea of getting redemption is in the minds of the Hanwood players, Bertolin knows there is plenty of football to be played between now and then.
"It is a long season, and you don't win the comp in the first round, but you can lose it, I think is the old saying," he said.
"They are really keen to get back out there, and there is some good energy, that's for sure."
The Hanwood coach is expecting a tough clash from the Henwood Park side.
"They are very physical, so we won't be going into it lightly, but we want to go out there and put on a good show," he said.
"We have one bloke who is a bit of a worry about his fitness, but everyone else is ready and raring to go and looking to put on a good show in front of the home crowd."
