Since the vouchers became available last month, Cafe2sixty2, Bella's Cafe, the Southside Leagues Club and the Exies Club have all had a wave of people using them to pay for meals.

Exies promotions manager Francine Barbaro said the vouchers had proved "popular" and there had been "a lot of interest" since they were made available.

"There are a lot of people using the vouchers to pay for their meals and we've had a dramatic increase in bistro sales both here at the main club and at the sporties club, especially over Easter," she said.

This sentiment was echoed by Cafe2sixty2 manager Rozanne Cotterill, who said a combination of locals and tourists were making the most of the free vouchers.

"We've only had it for about a week but it has been really good so far," Mrs Cotterill said.

"The regulars are using them and we're even getting a lot of visitors to town who are looking up where they can use them and coming in."

According to Ms Barbaro, despite the strong start there is still some confusion surrounding the program.

"There's a few people that don't know about it and they don't think that it's available in Griffith or they don't think they are eligible for it," she said.

"I think it's important to let everyone know it's there for them to use ... it's free food after all."

Every Griffith and NSW resident is eligible to receive the four $25 vouchers by applying through the Service NSW app.

Two of the vouchers can be spent on dining and two on recreation and entertainment.
