Four of the five headed up on March 20-21 for the Littles Championship and were faced with less than ideal weather conditions.
The varying torrents of wind and rain were no deterrent to the kids, however, the tough conditions resulted in a postponement of a few events like long jump for the following weekend.
Despite the tough conditions, the Griffith team were able to come away with some exceptional results.
Mary Dal Broi had a great weekend competition in the under 11s girls with a ninth-place finish in the 1500m, fifth in the 800m (1st in her heat) in the 800m as she shaved off eight seconds off her personal best and fifth in the long jump with an 11cm personal best.
Tess Canzian finished 20th in the under 9 girls shot put, and Antonio Licastro finished ninth in the under 10 boys high jump.

Meanwhile, the final of the five talented athletes, Mitalia Tanuvasa made the trip up to Sydney the following week to compete in the Youth Championships.
Mitalia placed 18th overall in the under 14s girls 3kg shot put with a 22cm personal best throw of 9.12cm, and then backed that up with a 13th placed finish in the 1kg discus event.
