About 2000 people spent their Saturday afternoon at the Griffith Vintage Festival, lounging under the green leaves of the Miranda Winery and tasting the finest wines and food from across the region.

Despite being called off last year, the relatively young festival once again proved wildly popular, reaching capacity for the fifth event straight.

"There was a really good vibe. You can see people are just so happy to catch up with their family and friends now that COVID isn't hanging over our heads," organiser Carrah Lymer said.

"It was just a great day out."

The most eye scratching sight of the event came in the form of a packed dance floor, as Griffith's youth braved the searing sun to celebrate the lifting of COVID restrictions over dance floors.

Earlier in the day, the Children's Easter Brunch was a massive hit with local families.

Hundreds of children and parents floated through CWA Park over the course of the morning, with a collection of events keeping the children entertained as they worked off the energy from countless easter eggs.

"It was really lovely, there was always a lot of people in the park," Children's brunch organiser Viki Dalla said.

"The kids had an absolute ball, the stage show was great and there was a master balloon twister who was making all sorts of fancy balloon creations for the kids which they absolutely loved.

As well as the balloon twister, there was also a stage show depicting the story of Easter, a boys versus girls tug of war, giant parachute games, and a big easter egg hunt.

"We had the giant easter egg hunt and the kids were thrilled, they had so many eggs they couldn't carry them all," Mrs Dalla said.

"There was all sorts of stuff happening."

Last year was the first time in more than 30 years that the Children's Easter Brunch didn't run in Griffith, and Mrs Dalla said it was fantastic to get going again.

"It was really nice to have it again in the park and for families and kids to come along and have a good time and remember Jesus, because that's what Easter is all about."
