Griffith's Liz and Peter Josling are celebrating six decades of wedded bliss on April 8, a huge achievement that is being lauded by all of their family and friends.
The couple will hold a special anniversary party with all of their nearest and dearest on Easter Sunday to celebrate the significant milestone.
Both Liz and Peter were born in Griffith and came from families who helped to pioneer the local fruit industry.
Liz's father Stan was a soldier-settler who cleared his farm and planted fruit trees in the 1920s.
Peter's father Ted established and, ran for many years, a fruit packing and exporting business.
Ted also encouraged Liz's brother Stuart Broome to start a fruit and vegetable shop in Griffith where Liz worked for many years, so the family connections were there from the early days before love bloomed.
Liz and Peter met at the Presbyterian (now Uniting) Church fellowship, which they still attend together to this day.
Over their 60 years together they have contributed many hours of dedicated service to their parish and the broader community.
