Bullying is never acceptable in any form or for any reason. It can have immediate, medium and long-term effects on those involved, including bystanders.
If you are being bullied, then don't be silent but tell someone who may be a peer leader, friend, or trusted advisor and who is willing to help, listen and act.
As a community it is important to address the issue of bullying, not to brush it under the rug or make excuses for people responsible for bullying behaviour. It is always unacceptable to belittle or degrade someone based on their appearance, gender or cultural background. We should always foster an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding.
