The Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Griffith, Yenda and Leeton were called to the fire at about 7:34pm last night.
Firefighters worked overnight to control the blaze but low visibility and safety concerns over the structural integrity of the building caused operations to be scaled back just after midnight.
On Friday, heavy machinery was used to safely gain access to the centre of the building where the fire was still burning.
As of 5:00pm, the blaze has almost completely been extinguished by fire crews.
The building alight was the old 2RG radio station and MTN 9 tv station at 161 Remembrance Drive.
There appears to be significant damage to parts of the buildings roof, though the full extent of the damage is currently unknown.
"It was fantastic work from all services, each providing specific capabilities to allow the job to be done as well as it was," Duty Commander Beattie said.
Griffith SES moved large amounts of water to assist fire crews and ambulance services monitored the welfare of firefighters.
Essential Energy personnel were also on site to confirm the power to the building had been isolated.
The fire is being investigated by police who say it is being treated as suspicious.
