Nigel Plum, former NRL player and close friend of Roger Penrith is auctioning three jerseys signed by South's players Adam Reynolds and Cameron Murray among other items on Ebay this weekend to raise money for the local charity, which he says was very close to the late Mr Penrith's heart.

"The Penrith family would like to donate all the money raised for the auction to Carevan, as it was Roger's passion," Mr Plum said in a statement on behalf of the family.

"We're very thankful for the donations from the Penrith family," Janice Sartor, coordinator for Carevan said.

"Roger was a long time volunteer for the Carevan and he cared about what the service provides in the community."

Mr Penrith had been a volunteer for Carevan since it's beginnings in 2014 until he passed in December, 2020. Mrs Sartor said that this injection of funds would go directly to buying food for the Carevan's weekly deliveries.

Mr Plum who played in The Roger Penrith Memorial game in February, wore the boots and head gear that are included in the items for auction. Bidding for items closes Sunday night March 7.
