The Multicultural Council of Griffith, who were the original occupants of the premises at 81 Kooyoo street hope that Council will open up opportunities for community groups to apply for the space once it becomes vacant.
"When we started the Multicultural Council it was our first office until circumstances forced us out of there," President of the Multicultural Council of Griffith, Carmel La Rocca said.
"It would be great to go back to the original space if it's possible, to enhance the programs we offer for the community and make it a real resource centre for the large multicultural community that we have."

The recently renovated building currently houses the Western Riverina Country University Centre (CUC).
However, when construction is completed at the new Griffith Community Centre in Olympic street in August, the CUC will be taking up offices there, leaving the Kooyoo street premises without a function.
Member for Murray Helen Dalton has put her support behind the Multicultural Council saying the space would be well suited to the valuable services they provide.
"It would be an excellent idea to use the Kooyoo street building as a Multicultural Resource Centre when the Country Universities Centre re-locates," Mrs Dalton said.
"It's a beautiful building that has just been refurbished. It really needs to be put to good use.
The property is owned by Griffith City Council who said that if in the future they decide to lease out the building, the Multicultural Council 'would have the opportunity to lodge an expression of interest'.
The Multicultural Council are currently in an on-going lease arrangement with their office in Crystal Arcade however, Mrs La Rocca explained they have out grown that space.
"It's a great space we have now, but we are needing something just a little bit bigger to match all the services and events we provide to the community," she said.
