Australia's national rollout of the vaccine officially began on Monday, with more than 240 facilities across the country now administering the vaccine.
Those receiving the vaccine in this initial phase include frontline health care workers, aged care and disability staff, aged care and disability residents and quarantine and border workers.
It is not yet clear when the vaccine will be brought to Griffith.
One local health professional says he is excited for the arrival of the vaccine in the MIA and the gradual return to normalcy it will bring.
It's just going to be peace of mind, not just for Griffith, but for Australia and the world.
- Robin Salvestro, Pharmacist
"It's just going to be peace of mind, not just for Griffith, but for Australia and the world," the owner of Soul Pattinson Chemist, Robin Salvestro said.
"For the general communities and businesses it's going to make people feel a little more comfortable.
"I just hope that people take it on board and get the vaccine, it's just going to be good for the country."
Pharmacist aren't involved in the initial phases of the COVID vaccine roll out, but Mr Salvestro has spent years administering other vaccines to Griffith residents.
"You're going to get people here who are always sceptical, but I envisage about 60 per cent of people in Griffith are going to come forward to get vaccinated," Mr Salvestro said.
He said he expected Griffith to receive the vaccine "some time in March".
"The country towns aren't necessarily being threatened, so the government is prioritising big cities and tourist areas first," Mr Salvestro said.
