Sunday February 28 the Griffith Country University Centre (CUC) is hosting their first Career Close Up event where professionals and current university students will share experiences of their career paths.
Teaching, psychology, engineering and nursing sectors will be the focus for the event where the CUC hopes prospective students considering these careers will gain valuable insight.
"It's a good opportunity for people to come in and meet some other students and meet potential professionals they may end up working with down the track," Ellen Lyell, Learning Skills Advisor at CUC said.
"You could be straight out of school or currently working but thinking of doing something else and not quite sure what that job would be like.
"Each profession will talk about what it's like working and getting a job here and then the students will share a bit about what it's like to study that career."

There will be plenty of opportunity for people to chat with presenters to ask them questions and discuss options and ideas as well said Miss Lyell.
"If people want to know how to actually apply for these courses, we can support them with that because Erin and I will be there on the day too."
Since opening its doors in 2019, the Griffith and Leeton CUC offices have supported over 200 students through distance education. This year will see the office relocate to its new home at the Griffith Community Centre on Olympic street in August, where the staff are eager to continue to grow their networks and support for local students.
"What we're really interested in is creating those links and networks within the community so we can help students go from studying to getting a job in the community," Miss Lyell said.
"We've had 10 students since finishing their degree get employment in the community and that's something that we are really proud of and we want to keep trying to grow."
To register for Sunday's Career Close Up call the centre manager Erin Callaghan on 0436 461 003 or visit their event page here, it's completely free.
