The BP Top Town petrol station and Lola & Iris boutique both had their front doors smashed in seperate incidents.
A witness told police he noticed two people with "gloves and face coverings" using what appeared to be a street sign to smash the glass entry door to the service station just before midnight on February 19.
An alarm monitoring system was also triggered at the store.
According to police, a "large hole" was smashed in the front entry door and windows to the business were "jimmied open".
The witness also told police the alleged offenders entered the location and left a short time later on foot down Olympic Street.
It is unclear if anything was taken from the store and police are still making inquiries into the matter.

Two days later another witness told police they noticed three unknown males smash the glass entry door to Lola & Iris boutique about 3:15am on February 21.
The witness told police the three males were wearing dark coloured clothing and balaclavas.
Upon witnessing the break-in, the witness immediately called police.
The males allegedly took items from the store before leaving down Kooyoo Street.
Speaking to The Area News, the owner of the boutique said it was "devastated" when she saw what had happened.
"It's like my second home so it was quite a shock ... it's just invasive."
The boutique has already opened back up after the incident.
"I'm not going to let them stop what I'm doing," the store owner said.
The owner was very thankful to all the people who have expressed their support over the past few days.
They said they were "very grateful" to two security guards who saw the events unfold and attempted to pursue the offenders.
Police are continuing investigations.
