We will welcome new members following a recent and successful recruitment campaign by the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.
The committee looks forward to a positive year with a group of committed and passionate members who have volunteered to make a difference and be a voice for health in our community.
The next stage of the $250 million Griffith Base Hospital Redevelopment started in late 2020 and is progressing well.
Works will continue over the next 12 months and include the construction of a new non-clinical services building, temporary relocation of the paediatric unit, construction of a temporary carpark and demolition of redundant buildings.
The completion of these works will ensure continuity of health services operations while the new hospital is being built.
The community is reminded that services will continue as normal, however there may be changes to building and site access in some parts of the hospital, and to observe signage when visiting the campus.
IN OTHER NEWS:
A reminder that copies of the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network's 2021 Mental Health Diary are still available.
The diary is helping to build local community capacity and to reduce stigma around mental health and ways to seek help.
Copies of the Griffith Supportive Care and Services Guide for carers and compassionately active people from our community working to provide care and support to people at end of life are also available.
Both of these resources are free.
