Players Adam Reynolds, Liam Knight and Cameron Murray left no shirt unsigned in Pioneer with dozens of residents donning their jerseys in crowds of enthusiastic fans waiting their turn for photos with the stars.
Vice President of the Darlington Point-Colleambally rugby league club Stephen Hogan partnered with South's to bring players to Dave Taylor Park and he said it was great to see so much support from the community.
"We were approached by South Sydney. They wanted to come to a regional area and were really keen to come to Griffith so they asked us to host it," Mr Hogan explained.
"It's a fantastic response today. We've got three of the best footballers playing in the NRL here. They've been out here for two days promoting the game of rugby league and they've been fantastic.
"It's a credit to young men like them to get out and share their experience of rugby league with our community. With a response like this today you can see why it's important to all our communities to have football."
Seven-year-old Braxton Carberry wasted no time in getting his South's jersey signed but made sure to say he doesn't play favourites.
"I like all the players," he said.
The winger from Griffith Waratah Tigers is looking forward to the season starting soon after a year off and hopes this year he will bag his first try.
"I love tackling and trying to score tries, but I've never scored a try before."
