The Darlington Point Lions Club made a $10,000 donation to Griffith Can Assist on Monday.
Club member Allan Strachan handed over the donation, a moment which he said "felt great".

"It's a worthy thing to do for the community," Mr Strachan said. "Can Assist have helped a lot of people in this area and right now there is so much cancer getting around."
"It's not cheap to go through cancer treatment."
The Lions Club regularly donates smaller amounts to Can Assist, but with some members of the Darlington Point community currently fighting cancer, they felt it was a good time to make a big donation.
Griffith Can Assist president Olga Forner said she was taken aback when they received the donation.
"We were just absolutely elated and very grateful," Mrs Forner said.
"COVID has interrupted our fundraising program so the value of this money is indescribable."
"I know this will do so much good for cancer patients."
Can Assist is a volunteer driven organisation that provides financial assistance to country people affected by cancer.
