Mitchell Jack Irvin's case went before the District Court at Griffith this week, but was further adjourned for a hearing date.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Defence lawyer Stephen Stanton had argued that 19 was too young for someone to be saddled for life with a conviction.
He said Irvin had got caught up in the moment while defending a mate
But Ms Moody disagreed, pointing out - after viewing CCTV footage of the fight - that Irvin's offending was far too serious to escape conviction.
This will be considered by Judge Sean Grant at a hearing set down for March 16.
The case stems from an incident in Albury on March 21, 2020, in which Irvin could be seen repeatedly punching strangers.
