A home has suffered significant damage following a house fire in Griffith's north-east today.

Fire crews from Griffith and Leeton were called to the McCudden Street home at about 11:50am on Friday, January 22.
Upon arrival, the roof of the home was engulfed in flames.
Using gas cooling, firefighters conducted a search of the house and confirmed there was nobody inside the property.
The crews then re-entered the house, saving a dog from the backyard, and recovering an olympic torch, wedding photos, jewelry, and a computer.
They then returned to the front of the home to continue fighting the fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW Senior Instructor Anthony Hatch said the home had suffered 'significant damage' and would likely need to be rebuilt.
He commended firefighters on their ability to save the valuables.

"The crew has done an excellent job and really went above and beyond to get to something that was really valuable," he said.
The cause of the blaze is yet to be determined.
Due to the extensive damage the house was covered in a fire supression foam to prevent it from reigniting.
A Leeton hazmat crew was also in attendence.
