Both sides are undefeated since the festive break with Coro taking out a bonus-point win over Diggers while Leagues took a big win over Exies Eagles before taking out a tight tussle with Diggers last weekend.
The two clubs have enjoyed a good rivalry over the last few years and Coro captain Haydn Pascoe said it was good to see them back towards the top.
"Good to see Jimmy has really taken the reign on, and they had a really good win last week against Diggers," he said.
Heading into the game, Coro will be without a few players including Jake Rand and Angus Boulton, but the biggest miss will be Dean Bennett who is playing second grade in Melbourne.
Pascoe feels that it will be unlikely that he will return for the Cougars this season.
"At this stage, he is stuck in Melbourne because of restrictions, and he said he is just going to stay there and play there," he said.
"At this stage he will probably play the rest of the season in Melbourne I'd say.
"It is a huge loss for us but full credit to him, I'm with him all the way with that decision. It is good cricket up there, and he is well and truly up to it."
As for this weekend, Pascoe knows his side are going to have to watch out for a Leagues side who are playing with plenty of confidence.
"They have a pretty handy team. I think Matho (Reece) hasn't really done much this year, so he is probably ready to get a few runs," he said.
"Jimmy (Binks) got forty, and Madden (Andrew) got forty last week as well.
"They have a few handy players, so it is hard to really single just one bloke out."
Pascoe has been in pretty handy touch with the bat himself having score three fifties in his last three innings for the Cougars, and it comes down to a simple mentality.
"I'm just trying to enjoy cricket as much as I can, and a bit of success along the way is always handy," he said.
"I have been feeling pretty good with the bat, so hopefully that can continue."
Heat looks set to play a role in this weekend's matches with predictions of temperatures in the low forties which could see games reduced.
