Now the whole world is set to find this out with the release of her first book titled just that - More Than Just a Hairdresser.
The book will be launched on Sunday at the Yoogali Club, in what is a part career memoir and part self help, but also the accompanying workbook offers readers a roadmap to overcoming challenges, communicating more effectively and experiencing more overall joy in life.
After more than 25 years in the hairdressing industry as both a salon owner and instructor, Ms Piromalli is now a registered and accredited counsellor and mediator, working in her own private practice.
She is the founder of The Counselling, Mediation and Relationship Centre, a company providing programs, seminars and sessions for both individuals and businesses that help their goals become reality.
Ms Piromalli was inspired to write the book she wished she had when she was first starting out as a hairdresser.
"I purchased my first salon at 19 and, over the next 10 years, most of the challenges I faced were in the areas of communication and relationships," she said.
"I wanted to pass on everything I learnt during this time, and in my subsequent years as a therapist.
'While the book reflects on my experience as a hairdresser, it's really for anyone that wants to make positive changes in their life but isn't quite sure where to start."
After COVID delayed the launch of the book, Ms Piromalli was looking forward to finally being able to share it with one and all on Sunday.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"I'll be speaking about my journey from hairdresser to author and I am thrilled that one of my personal heroes, Sharon Blain will also be presenting at the event," she said.
Ms Blain started her hairdressing career in Griffith and has gone on to be one of the most acclaimed hairdressers and educators in the world today.
Proceeds from the charity auction on the night will go to Can Assist Griffith and Griffith Suicide Prevention and Support.
Tickets to the event can be purchased from donnapiromalli.com.
