The payments are set to stop at the end of March, and the co-ordinator of Griffith's Meals on Wheels, Tennille Valensisi, says they are anticipating an influx of people in need of help when they do.
"It is something that we're expecting," she said. "There is a lot of people that have become reliant on that money, and they will notice a huge difference after that payment ceases."

Mrs Valensisi said when the payments were first introduced, the number of people needing emergency food hampers went down.
But the demand has steadily risen back up over the past few months, as cuts have been made to both payments.
Mrs Valensisi said she believes 100 per cent of the individuals who use Meals on Wheels would be on some type of welfare, and many will have to return to receiving hampers when the end date to the payments comes around.
She said the program is well-prepared for the situation.
"We do have a stockpile of long-life supplies," she said.

"If we do get people that require food and we don't have any fresh fruit or veggies for them, we give them an emergency hamper, which has all long-life products in it like rice, pasta, tea, and coffee."
Mrs Talensisi said it would be a tough time for Griffith residents who rely on the payments.
"It would be a bit concerning if they have become reliant on those payments."
"If they're in a position where they're unable to work or if it's beyond their control, then this would undoubtedly be a very worrying time for them."
