Ms Wilson was born on December 26 at Farm 110 in Hanwood.
She was delivered by a local doctor in Dr Watkins.
Ms Wilson left Griffith after finishing high school and attended a secretarial college in Sydney, returning once qualified to work in the Rural Bank in Banna Avenue prior to World War II.
"I joined the Navy during the war and I consider myself to be one of the lucky ones getting a position as a personal driver for the Admirals around Sydney and Melbourne," she said.
In her 101 years, Ms Wilson has travelled the world, as well as Australia and said she loved every minute of doing so.
"But there really is no place like home - Griffith," she said.
"I have had a wonderful life growing up in Griffith watching the city grow and change over the years."
The sprightly resident, who now calls The Pioneers Lodge home, believed there were a few reasons behind being able to blow out the candles on her 101st birthday.
"I believe the secret to my longevity and good health is enjoying the wonderful world we live in, pandemic and all," Ms Wilson said.
