HIS LIFE SHOULD BE CELEBRATED
I'm writing to express my shock and sadness at the news of the recent passing of Roger Penrith. Words really do seem incapable of capturing the character of such a special human being.

In my many dealings with Roger, I found him unfailingly generous, wise, compassionate, smart, calm and, above all, honourable. He was a man of the highest integrity who will leave a profound legacy in the local Aboriginal community, as well as the broader community.
I was lucky enough to bump into Roger at Big W in Wagga only a few weeks ago and we spoke of his health struggles, his new challenge with the Clontarf Foundation, his beloved Bunnies and our shared passion for horse racing.
His is a life that should be both celebrated and emulated.
And if we are to properly honour his memory, we should invoke his own warm-hearted spirit and strive to become more inclusive and more understanding of others in our community. My most heartfelt condolences go out to Roger's wife Lisa, daughter Madison, his extended family and Griffith's Aboriginal community at the loss of such a wonderful man.
Rest in peace, Rog. You were a mentor and friend to so many and your legacy will light the path for future generations.

POPULARITY NO 'TRUE' MEASURE
When one occupies a position of authority as this President has, doesn't mean they expect to win a popularity poll with the masses. On the contrary it has been proven that they have usually got it right.
This tends to stick in the craw of those who can't handle it whereby their verbal, media and other means of aggression become evident. Whilst running the show, President Trump gave a sense of presence that reflected a much safer world whilst he held the reins.
It was the same with Ronald Reagan and also John Kennedy and Abe Lincoln. All these men stood tall on principles and all imparted something worthwhile. Trump stood up to China, the wiles of the devil, in this case communism on the march across the world in our universities, our schools, etc brainwashing the next generation.
China's leaders are dictators that rule with an iron fist in their own nation, their desire is to rule all nations foolish enough to weaken and bow the knee so that we all become a one global order under their regime.
Time to get cluey, time for our gutless leaders both sides to join forces and fight against this evil predator instead of cowering down under the guise "we mustn't rock the boat".

GOALS SHOULD BE ADAPTABLE
A recent report indicated the Murray-Darling Basin Authority is meeting its objectives in relation to river operations.
What the report doesn't say, is that in doing so we are seeing massive environmental damage caused by excessive flows and unnatural flooding along sections of the Murray River. In effect, we have a Murray-Darling Basin Plan that is damaging the environment it is supposed to protect.
This is occurring because the objectives the MDBA is being asked to meet are flawed. Its target, or 'objective', is to send massive quantities of water down the Murray River and over the border into South Australia, to keep the Lower Lakes as a freshwater system and the Murray Mouth open 95 per cent of the time.
However, since these 'objectives' were developed we have additional science which unequivocally proves the Lower Lakes were originally estuarine, and that rising sea levels will mean the barrages will not be able to hold back sea water.
Despite this, we haven't changed the 'objectives' to meet the changing science and impacts of climate change. We urgently need to change these original flawed 'objectives' to ensure they protect the entire length of the Murray. Instead, we have a 'tick a box' approach which is damaging the very environment it is supposed to be saving.
