It was a fun and memorable night of music, for the hundreds of Griffith residents who made their way to Memorial Park for the Carols by Candlelight event.
While the night featured age-old classics such as A Silent Night and Joy to the World, there were also new additions to the world of Christmas carols, in the form of QR code sign-ins and social distancing.
But event organiser Julie Andreazza said despite the initial challenges posed by COVID-19, the celebration proved an enjoyable one.
"I think it went very well, considering COVID," she said. "It was important for the community and to bring a bit of happy Christmas spirit."

"Everyone just sat back and relaxed. People were enjoying the food and sitting down on their blankets. The kids were dancing around. It was lovely."
As the sun went down, the park came to life, with the wonderful decorations setting the scene for a night of Christmas celebration.
A certain bearded gift-giver from the North Pole also made an appearance, arriving on a firetruck to the delight of the attending children.
Mrs Andreazza said Santa Claus' arrival was the highlight of the night.
"That was awesome. Just seeing the little kid's faces when they realised Santa was there was the best part."
The event was the culmination of months of work for volunteers and performers, and Mrs Andreazza was full of praise for the dozens who helped put it together in a difficult year.
But more than anyone else, Mrs Andreazza thanked Matt Segrave, the event's musical director.

"He did an amazing job," she said. "He was working under some really difficult conditions and he still came through for us. He went over and above."
"Griffith doesn't realise how lucky we are to have such a talent in our town, volunteering his own time so that the town can have carols."
Mrs Andreazza also thanked the Griffith City Council for their assistance in setting up the event, and the various food vans that came to help feed the crowd.

"Thank you to everyone that came along and all the volunteers and the community. Just thank you to everyone it was fantastic."
"Hopefully it will be bigger and better next year."
The night will undoubtedly be memorable to Mrs Andreazza for another reason, as during the carols, her son Brendan Andreazza proposed to his girlfriend Amy Carver.
It was a resounding yes.
