Once complete, work on the main clinical services building will able to begin.
Earlier in September, the contract for early and enabling works for the non-clinical support building, temporary pediatrics ward and demolition work was awarded to Hutchinson Builders.
Demolition work will make room for the non-clinical services building which is set to support staff once the re-developed main building is completed.
A temporary car park will be built on southern approach of the hospital grounds, while the pediatric ward will be relocated.
Design work on the new clinical services building is continuing, with construction work for the main building set to begin in 2022.
One of the major milestone's of the project, the hospital's ambulatory care hub, was opened in May after construction finished in April.
