Two electrical boxes which supply the lights were damaged around 11.30pm on Tuesday.
The lights have now been switched off, and the displays closed.
"To say we are disappointed is a gross understatement - council invested heavily in time and money to be able to provide Christmas cheer for this community, and it has taken less than a week for vandals to ruin it for everyone else," mayor John Dal Broi said.
"Until electricians can attend the site and repair the electricity boxes, we have to keep the arch and bauble switched off to ensure public safety."
Council is offering $2000 to anyone who is able to provide information which results in a conviction against the people responsible for the vandalism.
In the first three months of the 2020-2021 financial year - council has already outlayed $3078 in repairing vandalism at Ted Scobie Oval, Jubilee Oval, City Park and at the Lake Wyangan picnic area.
Griffith City Council will install CCTV at Memorial Park to protect the Christmas decorations.
"We didn't believe it was necessary to install CCTV to protect the city's decorations, however following these incidences it is clear that we need to take steps to protect community property," Councillor Dal Broi said.
