The winners of the rural and remote photo story competition were announced earlier this month, with Goolgowi only finishing behind Clare Public School, from far-western NSW.
The image, of two young students playing with futuristic robots, was enough to beat out all other competitors in the 'Looking through our window' competition.
The competition saw public schools from across the state, submit up to 10 photos, which celebrate the unique perspectives and unusual features of learning in a rural and remote education setting.
The second place finish meant Goolgowi was awarded with $1500, which their student representative council will decide how to spend.
