Originally meant to be a 40-over game the predicted hot temperatures saw the match reduced by 10 overs for each side.
After winning the toss and electing to bat Diggers were able to make a solid start with Luke Peruzzi and Parash Patil putting on 18 in the first seven overs before Alex Flood struck to remove Peruzzi (4).
Coming off the back of a century in Diggers last game, captain Trevor Richards joined Patil at the crease, and the pair were really able to lay a strong foundation for their side.
Over the next 12 overs, Diggers were able to get themselves to 74 before Teei Piawi (1/26) made the breakthrough his side needed when he found a way through the defences of Patil (32).
With 12 overs left in their innings, Diggers had the chance to get runs on the board, but the remaining batsmen struggled to make a start.
Tom Valeri (4) was caught off the bowling of Rob Rand while after helping Richards get his side past the 100-mark, Matt Flack also departed to Rand (2/25).
Richards was able to post another half-century and keep the score ticking over while Flood (2/28) was able to pick up the wicket of Kyle Bennett (2) and Williams-Hedges pick up the wicket of Ben Fattore who was caught behind by Tim Rand.
In the pursuit of quick runs in the final over of their innings, Richards (71) was clean bowled by Williams-Hedges (3/19) who followed it up the next ball with the wicket of Ryan Bulluss (0) to see Diggers finish their 30 overs on 8/139.
Williams-Hedges and Jake Rand were able to make a strong start to their innings with 33 runs off the first five overs before Daniel Dossiter was able to pick up the wicket of Rand (15).
Coro captain Tim Rand and Williams-Hedges were able to get the score to 56 before Williams-Hedges (15) was caught behind off the bowling of Bulluss (1/23) while Rand (13) followed in the next over when he was trapped in front by Peruzzi (1/8).
Knowing that they needed to keep the scoreboard ticking over Angus Boulton and Ben Signor came together with their side needing 84 runs to win off the remaining 15.5 overs.
The pair put on 18 runs before Signor (3) departed but Steele and Boulton got their side to 100 before Boulton (34) became Ash Verhagen's (2/20) second victim.
Piawi (1) was knocked over by Trevor Richards leaving the Cougars requiring 35 runs off the remaining 22 deliveries.
Steele and Justin Moat gave their side a good chance before Dossiter (2/30) made the crucial break with the wicket of Steele.
The Cougars needed 14 runs off the final over and Moat (17*) and Flood (1*) were only able to score four off a tight Dossiter over to see Coro finish on 7/130 and hand Diggers a 10-run victory.
