A number of wreaths were laid at the Cenotaph in Griffith on Wednesday and people around the memorial held a minutes' silence.
"We would like to thank the public who came out and paid their respects," Griffith RSL Sub-branch president Hank Veenhuzien said.
"We're sorry we couldn't have a formal service, to see people who remembered is great."
Wreaths were laid by Legacy, Griffith City Council, the sub-branch and Young Veterans and First Responders Murrumbidge.
Young Veterans co-ordinators Michael Borg and Berdene Oxley-Boyd said complying with the COVID restrictions was important to keep the community safe.
"It's good to see people have come out and paid their respects to those who were wounded, those who came home and have since died, and those who made a sacrifice in service," they said.
