Griffith Smart Home Solutions helps connect you to the Internet of Things

Taking time to make your home

WITH the growth of the "Internet of Things" (IoT), now is the time to ensure your home is intelligent enough to make the most of this interconnected revolution.

IoT is the "smart" networking of more and more devices, allowing them to communicate with each other with minimal human intervention.

That is where Griffith business Total Smart Home Solutions can help out, with sales, installation and integration of smart devices that can not only make home life easier, but more entertaining.

Griffith Smart Home Solutions focuses on home automation, CCTV and alarm systems and home theatre/audio systems, with owner/manager Anthony Puntoriero specialising in custom integration solutions for homes and businesses.

"As more devices and appliances are coming onto the market with 'smart technology' integrated in them, there is a desire for people to be able to manage these devices easily and quickly," Anthony said.

"Our lives are busy, so it is important to make the most of our downtime while having the peace of mind that our homes are safe and secure.

"That is why incorporating home automation, smart security and entertainment products can enhance our lifestyle while making our home safe and secure."

Anthony is able to set up a system that allows the homeowner to dim lights, close blinds and turn on air-conditioning, all done remotely with the swipe of a finger.

The business has been operating for about 18 months and opened a showroom 12 months ago.

"I have always had an interest in technology, having a background in IT sales, telecommunications and retail electronics," Anthony said. "I enjoy playing around with new tech and cool gadgets, so I like to keep up with the trends in the tech world.

"There are a lot of 'smart' products on the market and for most people it is difficult to know which products are the best ones for your lifestyle. If you are not tech savvy that can be difficult to set up and operate.

"Also, not all 'smart' products work together in a single interface or app, so knowing the right products that all work together can make the user experience and operability much easier.

Anthony said the key emerging trend in "smart" technologies is integration.

"Our automation systems are able to integrate a wide range of devices throughout the home and businesses, including lighting, audio, video, climate control, security and access control," he said.

"We can also help with assisted living, being able to open doors, windows, blinds, curtains, heating and cooling, all using a simple and easy to use interface, as well as the ability to voice control any devices connected."
