After two state elections, the number of people are tallied, feedback sought and then the lines on a map will change.
There's a little bit of method behind all the madness, the electoral commission is trying ensure that each state MP is responsible to a similar number of voters.
That magic number is 59,244.
To roughly achieve that number, Jerilderie will be added into the Murray electorate.
Elsewhere in the state, Lakemba will be abolished and absorbed into three neighbouring seats, while seat of Leppington will be created.
While the numbers are always carefully balanced, time and distance isn't.
Helen Dalton still has 10 councils in her electorate, much more than many other state MPs.
But when the area stretches from Griffith and Leeton in the east, all the way to the Victorian and South Australian borders, it means getting the chance to see issues or worries addressed will that little bit harder.
