Rapid preparations are under way for the arrival of 50 hungry Sydneysiders Friday afternoon. The Taste Riverina Food and Wine Adventure will arrive via 1960's heritage train to Griffith for a weekend long tour of Griffith's finest food and wine.

Event organiser Sonia Casanova said this tour, which has been running for three years now, is an amazing collaboration between local businesses and producers that injects thousands of dollars into the Griffith economy every year.
"People on the tour come and want to shop in our stores and they love to buy locally made pastas and take home our wines," Ms Casanova said.

A number of Griffith producers, restaurants and venues are on board this year with preparations keenly under way at Sugarmill Cafe who are hosting and catering the event's Saturday night Showcase Dinner.
"I'm really excited to showcase how Sugarmill Cafe cooks and prepares local produce," Mrs Bianchini said.
Mrs Bianchini took over Sugarmill three years ago and said that without the support of her hard working staff the Showcase Dinner would not be possible.
"We start preparation today (Wednesday), which is just me and my sous chef Carmen preparing most of the food," Mrs Bianchini said.
The Showcase Dinner will feature produce from Fivebough Rabbitry, Aquna Murray Cod, Myee Quails and Riverina Berkshire pork all prepared by Mrs Bianchini and her team.
Boutique Yenda winery, Yarran Wines will be providing a selection of its wines to accompany dishes for the evening, which is an opportunity they have been keenly anticipating.
"We are very excited to be involved and showcase what this region has to offer when it comes to wines and produce," Sam Brewer, winemaker and owner of Yarran Wines said.
"It's our chance to show off some regional styles that visitors to the region may not have experienced before."
The group will spend Saturday and Sunday touring around Griffith and the villages including lunch on Saturday at Ann Furner's prune farm, Naturally Dried Prunes in Yenda. Sunday the group is out to Hanwood for coffee and breakfast hosted in Marj and Mick Careri's garden Rosewood Park. Then guests will be wined and dined at the Piccoli Family Farm with a tour, cooking demo and long lunch.
