The NSW Rural Fire Service is searching for businesses around the MIA including Griffith, Carrathool, Leeton, Hay, Coleambally and Narrandera, and around the state who can provide vital support from catering to tools.
MIA District administration co-ordinator Tahlia Aramini said an electronic form could allow businesses to register within minutes.
Miss Aramini said the list of businesses was being created to assist volunteers during a major bushfire and to complete everyday maintenance.
She said volunteers from all over the district would work out of the fire control centre and having a central list for information made it easier to source the needed supplies.
The details provided by businesses also make it easier to ensure businesses are paid easily.
"We previously had lists, but this one is one that allows businesses to add and change details themselves," Miss Aramini said.
The self-managed list means details about address changes, supply logistics or the hours businesses are open under COVID-19 conditions can be recorded and updated. The RFS is looking businesses who can provide;
- Catering
- Accommodation
- Fuel
- Ice
- Tools
- Equipment hire
- Services including transport hire, security, cleaning and equipment hire
Businesses can visit q2c.rfs.nsw.gov.au to register and once complete, they can contact Miss Aramini at the MIA District fire control centre on 6966 7800.
