A LOADED gun was found on a man following a short foot pursuit in Narrandera this week.

Officers from the Murrumbidgee Police District were called to a home in Narrandera on Monday around 1pm after reports of a disturbance at the property.
Once they arrived, they noticed the 26-year-old man who they allege was holding a rifle in the backyard of the property.
After trying to speak to the man, he fled on foot with police giving chase.

After the short pursuit, the man was able to be arrested by the officers and the loaded .22 semi-automatic rifle was seized without incident.
The man was taken to Narrandera Police Station and charged with possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm, possessing an unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm and carrying a firearm manner likely to injure a person/property.
He was refused bail at the time and will appear in court at a later date.
