Police have confirmed a man has died following a single-vehicle crash on the Sturt Highway near Hay.

The male driver of the Mazda utility, who has yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
Emergency services were called to the accident about 50 kilometres west of Hay on Saturday after being alerted to a car crash where the male driver ran into a tree.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said that two crews of paramedics responded to the incident at 1.10pm on Saturday afternoon at the intersection of the Sturt Highway and Maude Road.
Officers from the Murrumbidgee Police District have started an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash and will prepare a report for the coroner.
