A strong first-half performance for Griffith FC during their clash with Wagga City Wanderers has seen the under 14s come away with a 6-1 victory.

A goal inside the opening three minutes from Luca Valensisi followed up seven minutes later by Bailey Morrissey before a first-half double to Pearson Kasawaya all but wrapped up the three points for the Griffith side within the opening 24 minutes as they went into halftime with a 4-0 lead.
Blake Sartor scored late in the second half before Kasawaya completed his hat-trick with seven minutes left to see Griffith holding a six-goal advantage.
Wagga City was able to hit the scoreboard with five minutes remaining however Griffith were able to keep their hopes alive with a 6-1 victory.
The result means Griffith are now six points behind Belconnen United with three rounds remaining one of which is a game in hand against Woden Valley.
Griffith FC will take on Belconnen in the final round so if they are able to win their final three games they have the chance to finish at the top of the ladder if other results fall in their favour.
It was a tight battle in the under 13s with a Wagga City Wanderers goal in the 49th minutes proving the difference-maker, handing the home side a 1-0 victory.
The under 16s tough season continued after a 3-1 defeat at the hands of their nearest rivals.
The sides battled hard in the first half with a goal to the Wanderers in the 34th minute gave them a 1-0 heading into the break.
Two goals within 12 minutes of the break put the game to bed for the Wagga side as they picked up the points with a two-goal victory.
This weekend will see the Griffith side head to Cootamundra on Saturday to take on Brindabella.
