Coach Luke Santolin felt the reason for their defeat was quite simple.
"Our execution in almost every facet of the game was slightly off from the first whistle, in particular, our shape," he said.
"It allowed them chances, and we got punished.
"They had an extra man in defence which we had been warned about, but then we made it easier for them by playing too narrow and through the middle. Our strength is out wide, and we went away from that.
"We became an almost average team when we don't play to our strengths."
Yoogali had the better of the chances in the first half with Grant Davidson having the first clear cut opportunity from a corner which was sharply turned away by the Weston keeper while Calvin Roddie had a one-on-one opportunity but scuffed the shot.
The Yoogali side was able to make the breakthrough with around half an hour remaining in the game after good combination play from Mitch Bagiante, Andrew Vitucci and Danny Roche seeing Roche able to get the ball into the back of the net.
Weston Molonglo was able to hit back soon after and grabbed the win with five minutes to go.
There was a notable absentee with Joe Preece taking the week off to try and get over a niggling back injury and while Santolin admitted he was missed he felt the side still had the ability to get the job done.
"In hindsight, I think we missed his energy, but we still had plenty of quality on the park," he said.
"It is probably the first time I have had to change the line-up all season, and I think it is just a coincidence.
"In saying that leading up to this game knowing that we were in the top two, I think the energy just dropped off. So in that sense, we have been humbled which we need to turn into a positive.
"I suppose when you rest players, it could send a message that we don't want to head into every game full throttle, so fingers crossed we can welcome him (Preece) back in next week so that we can get our momentum back."
