After a couple of minutes extra wait to find out who had taken out the prestigious event, it was declared that Supplyzing had taken out the cup by a nose.

This was a historic moment for the cup with it being the first time a mother-daughter combination had taken it out with the horse trained by Donna Scott and ridden by her daughter Danielle.

"It is mine and Danielle's first cup as well so it makes it all the more special as well and it was great that we were able to do it together," Donna said.

"My sister and brother in law own the horse and then live in Victoria so couldn't be here, so that is a shame, but they will be celebrating for sure."

The Albury-based trainer admitted it was a nervous wait after the horses had crossed the line.

"Usually things like that favour the outside," she said.

"But this time it went our way, so we were lucky."

Scott said she was reasonably confident, heading into the main event.

"He had been doing everything right," she said.

"He had a good run the other day and had less weight today, so we thought we were in there with a real chance.

"It was a bit tight down the straight, and he didn't have much room, but he got there in time."

Takookacod trained by Scott Spackman finished in second while Phill Sweeney's High Rush came home in third.

Cooee March trained by Griffith's Russell Hogan came home in seventh.
