A MAN has been assaulted and injured while asleep in bed at his Griffith home.

The 36-year-old victim was asleep around 4am on Monday, September 7 when three unknown offenders entered his property.
Police at this stage are unsure as to how they gained entry to the home and were also reluctant to reveal the street address at this time.
Upon entering the home, the offenders allegedly assaulted the victim who was asleep in his bed, resulting in extensive facial injuries.
The man's jaw was also injured during the assault.
Police said the three men left the property in a vehicle, but no further description could be obtained of the men or the vehicle.

The man was able to drag himself from his bedroom and go to a neighbour's house to seek help and the alarm was raised with emergency services.
He was taken by ambulance to Griffith Base Hospital where he was treated.

The assault came days after a separate incident where an 80-year-old man was assaulted in Yambil Street in Griffith.
