TAFE NSW will hold its inaugural virtual open day on Wednesday and Thursday, giving school leavers, their parents and guardians the chance to learn about 60 course areas and the facilities available.
Visitors to the online event can connect one-on-one with teachers, take 360 tours of campuses, observe practical demonstrations and access student support service and scholarship information in a virtual exhibition hall.
I want to reassure school leavers the pandemic isn't an obstacle to getting the skills they need.
- Belinda Mackinnon
Regional general manager Belinda Mackinnon said the new format meant participants didn't need to travel to explore every opportunity.
"COVID-19 has undoubtedly presented challenges for the class of 2020 and I want to reassure school leavers the pandemic isn't an obstacle to getting the skills they need to pursue the career of their dreams," she said.
Ms Mackinnon said TAFE NSW aimed to ensure all students would continue to learn in a COVID-safe environment.
