The Griffith side started strongly and looked likely to grab an early lead.
With 10 minutes gone a through-ball from Pearson Kasawaya put James Naseby through, and while he was able to win the footrace to the ball, he wasn't able to guide the ball into the back of the net.
Naseby had another good chance with under five minutes remaining in the first half; however his final touch just let him down as the Radford keeper was able to pounce just before he got a shot away.
With time winding down in the first half, Griffith FC was able to hit on the counter with an explosion of pace from Kasawaya.
Starting from the halfway line, Kasawaya was able to beat three defenders on his way to reaching the byline before cutting the ball back.
Josh Calabria was waiting at the top of the penalty box and calmly placed the ball into the bottom corner at the far post.
The Griffith side looked as if they would be able to hold on and take three points which would see them maintain their gap to top of the table Belconnen United however trouble struck with only a couple of minutes remaining.
With just a minute remaining a foul in the box resulted in a 70th-minute penalty which was converted to see Radford College steal a point and stay ahead of the Griffith side.
The gap at the top is also becoming a problem for the Griffith side who were hoping to come out on top this season with Belconnen now sitting nine points ahead of Griffith with six rounds remaining.
United was able to maintain their unbeaten season with an 11-1 win over Woden Valley and will need to start dropping points if Griffith wants to claim first place.
Meanwhile, it was a tough day out for the under 13s.
Griffith would have been hoping to keep their chances of catching top of the table Belconnen United with another three points however two second-half goals to Radford College gave the visiting side a 2-0 win.
The result means Griffith is now six points behind United in the 13s.
In the final game, the under 16s picked up a single point from a 0-0 draw with the Radford College side.
With six rounds to go, Griffith will play their second last home game for the season next weekend when they play host to Woden Valley.
They will then make two trips to Canberra and a trip to take on nearest rivals Wagga City Wanderers before returning home.
