Football Wagga made the decision to cancel all grades of soccer on Friday afternoon due to the heavy rainfall that hit Wagga and surrounding regions.
The decision was about preserving the surface of playing fields for the season, and also player and referee safety.
"The tough decision was made (on Friday) afternoon after inspection of the grounds following significant rainfall during the day," Football Wagga's media and marketing manager Deonie Burns said.
"The safety of players and referees needs to be considered along with the longevity of the fields and the possible damage that could be sustained if used in the current conditions.
"At this stage we are unsure if a catch up round will be able to be played given the season is already shorter with limited weekends to play."
