At least, that's what we were expecting to be doing. On Friday that all changed.
The lessons from Victoria's struggle with COVID-19 cases are clear, and as the Swans' president said - the risk versus reward didn't stack up.
The health authorities have been repeating the same warnings at every every opportunity and no one wants to be responsible for creating the next cluster which leads to a hot spot of coronavirus.
And who could blame them?
No Australian Rules games in Griffith is another reminder though for the community.
The businesses and organisations which support all our sporting clubs - deserve our support and they'll need it more than ever.
Whether it's a mum and dad run business which kicks in enough to get jerseys washed, or the registered club which hosts the function after the game.
It won't just be the players or the supporters missing out - but the people who are involved in getting the club to the grounds.
The last thing we want to see is more people out of a job because businesses are forced to make hard decisions about their own future now or when the threat of the virus eventually ends.
