A MOTORIST has been caught more than three times the legal blood alcohol limit while driving in Griffith on the weekend.

The 36-year-old Griffith man was stopped by police on Gordon Avenue on July 5 around 12.20am for a roadside breath test.
Police said the man returned a positive result, arresting him and taking him to Griffith police station for a further breath analysis.
The second test had the man record another positive reading of 0.156, which is three times the legal limit.
His licence was immediately suspended and he was charged with high range drink driving.
The man will now need to front Griffith Local Court next month.
In a separate incident, another resident was also allegedly caught drink driving on Monday evening around 7.20pm.
The 70-year-old Griffith man was stopped for a roadside breath test on Blumer Avenue, allegedly returning a low-range positive reading.
Police arrested the man, taking him to Griffith police station where a further breath analysis returned a reading of 0.07.
The man's licence was suspended as a result and he was handed an infringement notice for driving with a low range PCA.
Learner driver facing charges
GRIFFITH police expect to charge a 23-year-old learner driver with several offences after he was caught driving with an expired licence on Saturday.
The driver came to the attention of police after failing to indicate while turning at an intersection around 3.15am.
The motorist was stopped by police on Banna Avenue and the man allegedly produced a learner driver licence, which had expired.

The man was not accompanied by a fully-licenced driver at the time, which is a legal requirement.
Police said they expect to charge the man with several offences, including driving while having an expired licence.
Noise complaint heard
RESIDENTS of a home in Parkinson Crescent will be forced to keep things quiet after they were issued with a noise abatement direction by police on Saturday night.
Officers attended the address after receiving several complaints about the noise and loud music coming from the property.
Noise from that address will now need to be kept to a minimum while the direction is in place.
