The competition will be a 10-week competition with eight rounds before two finals, and Griffith Hockey president Micheal Crosato was pleased they would be able to get in a season in some form.
"It is good to just get something in play for a bit," he said.
"A lot of people have gotten bored, I think."
At this stage, the association was pleased to report that all men's teams had nominated for the shortened season while four of the six women's sides had also put their hands up to play meaning it will be an almost full roster in the senior competition.
"There are three (women's) teams that are sitting out for the year, but we are making up the fourth team with the women out of those three that want to play," he said.
"With the seniors, it is just about getting out there and having a bit of a run."
The juniors will also be going ahead with Crosato keen to see them maintain the momentum gained in recent years, but he knows there could be a drop off this year.
"We will still be doing juniors in the morning, and that is probably our main focus for the year," he said.
"The surveys that we sent out we were getting pretty close to our normal numbers, but we have had a few families leave town.
"It probably isn't going to be as big as we were going over the last couple of years, but it was kind of expected."
In an added bonus any players who sign up for this year's season will get a discount on fees for the 2021 season.
"Hockey NSW have chipped in, and we are doing the same," he said.
"So this year you pay the Hockey NSW and Hockey Australia component and no Griffith Hockey component and then that will get you through to next year where you will just pay the Griffith Hockey and Australia components only.
"So basically we are giving this year for free, and next year Hockey NSW is giving it for free for anyone who registers before July 18."
