After being sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic for over two months, the Griffith Kart Club has now returned to racing at full throttle.
The team of Riverina rev heads held their Griffith Kart Club Championships late last month, a week after they were given the go ahead from Karting NSW.
President Wal Snaidero says the pandemic has proved challenging, but local motorsport fans have played by the rules to speed up their return to racing.
"The virus has definitely slowed things down, but we made sure to follow through on all protocol at our last race meeting," Mr Snaidero said.
"And it's so good to be back after the past few months, we had some really good numbers last time out and it was great to see some new faces."
Racers came from across the state to participate in the Griffith Kart Club Championship, with a number of local racers taking a place on the podium across multiple classes.
Now, racegoers will be eager to keep their foot on the gas, with the next race meeting to be held in Grenfell on July 12.
