POLICE allege a driver and passenger attempted to swap seats when they were pulled over by officers in Griffith early on Monday morning.
The 19-year-old female driver was behind the wheel of a green Mitsubishi Magna, travelling south on Erskine Road in Griffith, when she was stopped by police around 12.30am.
When the vehicle stopped, police said it appeared the driver and passenger attempted to swap seats, but were unsuccessful.
The driver returned a negative roadside breath test, but checks by police revealed the vehicle's registration had expired at the end of August last year.
Officers discovered the driver's licence was also suspended due to fine defaults from March 17 this year.
The driver had previously been been issued with a court attendance notice on June 6 for driving while her licence was suspended.
She was given a further infringement notice for driving an unregistered vehicle.
