Speedy: And just like that we are back.
Liam: After a two-month break, we are back and how things have changed since we last spoke.
Speedy: The Riverina League is still going ahead isn't it.
Liam: At this stage, both the Riverina and Farrar Leagues will be taking to the field this year. Unfortunately for you beloved Hillston Swans, the Northern Riverina League won't be going ahead.
Speedy: I can understand that with it being the smaller towns and that sort of thing. ProTen is gone as if Group 20 in the rugby league but I'm sure these leagues, with the support that county people have in their football it will come back bigger and better next year.
Liam: Let's hope so because it would be a shame for the smaller towns to lose their sporting teams.
Speedy: On the national stage, let's start with the AFL. What would you say is the biggest surprise so far? The Gold Coast.
Liam: It is hard to go past them as the surprise package for 2020 so far. I would love to have seen what the odds were of them sitting near the top of the ladder at any stage of the season.
Speedy: They are going well, and it's terrific to see. In the first few seasons they were around they were almost a joke of the competition, but now it seems they are heading in the right direction.
Liam: I think it has come as a surprise to everyone.
Speedy: And Brisbane is moving along nicely as well.
Liam: Yep, they are sitting third, and even Port Adelaide is a bit of a surprise to be sitting at the top with four wins from four games.
Speedy: Now onto the NRL in Sydney and for me it would be a foolish man to say that the Roosters don't look favourite to take out the title once again this season.
Liam: After their win over their nearest challengers in Parramatta last weekend I think they have shown that they will be hard to beat this season.
Speedy: You want to know who my dark horse is. I'm going with West Tigers. I know they were beaten a couple of weeks ago by the Titans, but they made that form look good when Gold Coast beat the Broncos on the weekend.
Liam: Honestly mate, Brisbane would be flat out beating the Hillston Bluebirds the way they are travelling.
Speedy: I'll have to tell them to get them ready because the Broncos want to come down for a fair fight on Stan Peters Oval.
