The Ambulatory Care Hub was officially opened in May along with extensions to the medical services building to incorporate additional support areas and storage in the Critical Care Unit and Perioperative areas.
The medical and surgical floors, including an inpatient rehabilitation gymnasium, were expanded to improve functionality.
The hospital redevelopment is now in the schematic design phase, which looks at how rooms and services relate to each other and how patients and staff flow through the facility.
Members of the community are encouraged to provide feedback on the design by July 31.
You can participate in an online survey at www.mlhd.health.nsw.gov.ah/GBHRedev, email feedback to HI-GBHRedev@health.nsw.gov.au , or complete the tear-off feedback form distributed via a letterbox drop recently.
A request for tenders for the construction of the new non-clinical support building has been issued. Works will start in late 2020, including the demolition of redundant buildings, temporary relocation of the paediatric ward, followed by construction of the new non-clinical support building.
Griffith LHAC will be resuming face-to-face meetings this week for the first time since February.
We are excited to meet again in a more formal environment and continue working on our key priorities for 2020.
These are indeed exciting times for Griffith and the future of healthcare.
