It will mean an expansion of 10 people being allowed in restaurants, cafes and pubs to up to 50 people at any one time.

Among the people most excited are staff members of the Coro Club.

"The most satisfying thing is hearing all the staff rejoice," club general manager Roly Zappacosta said.

"It was gut-wrenching to tell everyone that there was no work as we were closed," he said.

Mr Zappacosta said it was satisfying to hear that people wanted to come back to work.

"To hear the joy in their voices ... it's delightful."

While the doors may be opened again from 10am on Monday, Mr Zappacosta said the club was easing back into trade.

"We will do everything we can to ensure the safety of staff and patrons," he said.

Time spent closed to customers wasn't wasted, Mr Zappacosta said, with a few improvements being made to the club, including a new reverse cycle air-conditioning system.

Several rooms got a fresh lick of paint, the carpets have been deep cleaned and the club's TAB room was re-arranged.

Mr Zappacosta said everyone was welcome back but urged people to follow the rules around social distancing and hand hygiene.

"They're not our rules, they're the government's rules," he said.

"Clubs and pubs can be closed down if the regulations aren't followed."

Meanwhile, not every club is poised to take advantage of the relaxed restrictions with Yenda Diggers Club to remain open for takeaway meals only.

Club chairman John Strano said to ensure the rules are complied with meant a significant cost in wages, as extra staff would need to be put on to ensure the club complies.

"It's not cost effective," Mr Strano said.

He said extra staff would be needed to provide table service, ensure guests kept their distance from each other and ensure 'high-tough' surfaces were cleaned regularly.

"We'll sit it out and wait until we go back to some normalcy," Mr Strano said.
